Water Tips To Help Make The Habit Stick

Here are a few tips to help you make this habit stick!

  • Don't try to drink alot of water in one go. It is best to sip it over time.
  • Water is best on an empty stomach, it is absorbed quicker and doesn'f interfere with digestion.
  • Measure out your water for the day into a bottle or covered jug, that way you don't have to keep count of the glasses!
  • Avoid drinking water with a meal, it dilutes your digestive juices.
  • Drink 30 minutes before a meal and afterwards wait at least 30 minutes before drinking again.
  • Some people love chilled water, there is now evidence that non-chilled water is better for you as it doesn't shock the stomach and divert energy to warming the water to body temperature.
  • If you don"t like plain water here are some ideas to make it more appealing:

    • Drink herbal teas or infusions - make sure they are not diuretic ones!
    • Add lemon or lime slices to give the water a tang
    • For sweeter versions use stevia as a natural sweetning alternative to sugar to go with your lemon or lime slices
